Durban, South Africa – Sasol Satellite Operations will host a ceremony on Wednesday, 14 February in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal where last year’s top performing Grade 12 learners will be awarded bursaries.
The learners will receive bursaries from the Sasol corporate bursary programme as well as the Sasol Inzalo Foundation bursary scheme. Both programmes are aimed at promoting interest in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics related careers.
Sasol Satellite Operations, Senior Vice President, Rightwell Laxa, said the successful candidates were deliberately selected from Sasol’s fence-line communities in Durban. These include Merebank, Newcastle, Richards Bay, Empangeni, Wentworth, Lamontville and Umlazi.
“With the scarcity of talent in South Africa and globally it is essential for Sasol to ensure continuous availability of skills to sustain our growth. The Sasol bursary scheme is a critical talent lever to enable us to meet our strategic and transformation objectives” said Rightwell Laxa.
